They call her Lovegoddess, “LG” for short. She resides in Baltimore where dance music has a life of its own. In the daytime she is a Rehabilitation counselor, but at night and at any free moment she dedicates her time to music. Many people nationwide are acquainted with her because she has friends all over. Her patronage and passion for music makes many friends all over the nation.
Always wanting to do more than just listening and supporting others, she has now picked up the headphones and has endeavored on her own interpretation of dance music. Some of the most creative jocks are dancers first and “LG” is no exception. “I remember being a little girl and dancing to my much older uncles as they mixed before they went out and then crying when they left to go to the Clubhouse in DC and I couldn’t go.” As a little girl, her uncle and his friends would let her listen and dance while they played the now classics that were popular when disco was at its peak. “I would sneak and try to imitate them dj-ing and would get into trouble for it. I knew how to operate the mixer and put the records on and I was barely 8 years old!” Many nights she said she would cry until they left because she couldn’t got to the club with them.
Unfortunately, many of her early mentors are now gone, but a piece of them is alive in her and her love for music. If they were alive today, they would be so proud and not surprised that she continues in their memory. She now is under the coaching of Djs such as Thommy Davis, Jerome Hicks, Dj Damond, Dj Meatball, Dj Speedy and inspired by many djs such as Teddy Douglas, Dj Spen, Karizma, Quentin Harris, Louie Vega, and many more including Wayne Davis who is revered as the founder of dance music in Baltimore.
In Baltimore the club scene is always pumping and she grew up in some of the city’s infamous clubs such as Club Fantasy, Cignels, Paradox and many more.
